Because it has been an absolutely crazy few weeks.  The dayjob has me super busy, the stuff I do on the side (Hanvoice!) has been busy, and the DJ’n?

Kollaboration 2009

Kollaboration was crazy.  A lot of people came out to support, and the feedback was amazing.

If you don’t know, Kollaboration is a show that provides an opportunity to showcase some of the most talented youths in our community.

My involvement this year was small, but I’m still glad to be able to say I was about to help out!

My fav performance of the night is this…

So if you take a look at the beginning, you can see me on stage DJ’n.  Yeah, that’s pretty much my contribution to the show.

(Actually, there was more.. but it was just playing background music).

It’s been forever, but I’ve decided to finally get off my ass and do something about djlyon.com.

For those of you who don’t know who I am, here’s some background info.

Real Name: Lyon
How I got this name: Named after my Delivery Doctor, Dr. Lyons
Nationality: Korean
Currently Resides: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
When did you start DJ’n? 1999
Gear list:

• Tech 1200 MK2′s
• Pioneer DJM-300
• CDJ-100′s
• Serato
• Lenovo Thinkpad X60s

What music do you spin? A little bit of everything.  Mostly Top 40 stuff, but a lot of emphasis on urban music (R&B/HipHop/Reggae), and more house than most people recognize.

Fav DJ’s:

• DJ AM:  I love his sound.
• DJ BabyYu:  One of my best friends in the scene, and I’ll always be a supporter.
• DJ Jr.Flo:  He’s sick, and different.  If you’ve never heard him go hard, you’ve missed out.
• DJ Neil Armstrong:  This guy is awesome.
• DJ Startin’ From Scratch:  Great guy in person, even better on the decks.

Where have you spun?  Which groups do you spin for?

• I’ve DJ’d at almost every club in Toronto’s main clubbing district at least once.
